Ghous Studio ("Ghous Studio," "we," "us," or "our") operates a remote software development agency offering unlimited web, mobile, desktop, and AI development work under a flat monthly subscription, accessible at https://ghous.dev/ (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why, how it's used, and the choices you have regardless of where in the world you're located.

The short version: We collect the minimum needed to run your subscription and deliver your project. We do not sell your data. Project code lives in a GitHub repository that you own from day one. Once a project is finished (or you ask us to), we delete our local copies of your project files.

1. Who We Are

Ghous Studio is an independently run development agency. We work remotely and provide services on a subscription basis, coordinating work through Trello, communicating through Discord, and delivering code through GitHub.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Contact form submissions: When you reach out via our contact form (powered by Tally), we receive the details you submit typically your name, email address, and message.
  • Project communication: When you're a subscriber, task details, requirements, files, and feedback you share via Trello and Discord are received by us for the purpose of completing your work.
  • Account & billing details: When you subscribe, our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy, collects billing information on our behalf (see Section 4).

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

We use Google Analytics on the Site to understand traffic and usage. This may collect information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and general location, typically via cookies. See Section 6 for more on cookies.

2.3 Project Code & Deliverables

For subscriber projects, we typically create a GitHub repository with you as the owner and Ghous Studio added only as a contributor. This means the code and project history are yours from the start we don't retain separate ownership or a permanent copy outside of our working environment.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver and manage your development subscription and complete assigned tasks
  • To communicate with you about your project via Discord
  • To process subscription payments and manage billing via Lemon Squeezy
  • To respond to inquiries submitted through our contact form
  • To understand and improve how visitors use our Site (via Google Analytics)
  • To comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting requirements tied to payments

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Payment Processing

Subscription payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record. This means Lemon Squeezy not Ghous Studio directly collects and processes your payment details (such as card information, billing address, and, where required, tax-related information), and is responsible for billing, invoicing, sales tax/VAT compliance, and fraud prevention. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details. We may receive limited transaction information (e.g., subscription status, amount, email) needed to manage your account.

5. Data Retention & Deletion Our Privacy-First Approach

We built Ghous Studio around minimizing what we hold onto:

  • Project code and deliverables live in a GitHub repository owned by you, not us, from the outset.
  • We retain project-related files and data on our local systems only for as long as needed to complete the active work.
  • Once a project is finished or at your request at any time we delete project files, communications logs we may have kept locally, and any other trace of the project from our devices.
  • We do not maintain long-term backups or archives of client project content once this deletion is complete.

Note: Deleting local files removes our copies. It does not delete the GitHub repository itself (which you own and control), nor message history stored on Trello's or Discord's own servers, which are governed by their respective privacy policies and your account settings there.

6. Cookies & Analytics

The Site uses cookies via Google Analytics to measure traffic and usage patterns. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics tracking using tools such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Blocking cookies may not significantly affect your experience of the Site, since it's primarily informational.

7. Third-Party Services We Use

We rely on the following third-party tools to run Ghous Studio. Each handles certain data under its own privacy policy:

8. International Data Transfers

Because Ghous Studio operates remotely and relies on services such as GitHub, Discord, Google Analytics, and Lemon Squeezy, your information may be processed or stored in countries other than your own, including the United States, subject to those providers' own safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable). By using our services, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in such countries.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of it, or to object to certain processing. We aim to honor these rights globally, not just where legally mandated.

  • EEA / UK (GDPR & UK GDPR): You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability, and to object to processing, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to opt out of sale/sharing (we do not sell personal information), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
  • Other jurisdictions: If your country has its own data protection framework (e.g., Canada's PIPEDA, Brazil's LGPD, Australia's Privacy Act), we will honor equivalent rights and requests on a reasonable-effort basis.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12.

10. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information while it's in our possession including relying on reputable third-party platforms (GitHub, Discord, Trello, Lemon Squeezy) with their own security practices, and deleting local project data once it's no longer needed. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
